At the world-leading ISH trade fair being held from March 14 to 18, 2017 in Frankfurt am Main, Viega will be highlighting its technical and aesthetic expertise as one of the leading system suppliers in the building technology field with lots of new products and upgrades. Among the classic installation systems, for example, the focus will be on the Megapress piping system for thick-walled steel pipe. The new XL sizes (2½, 3 and 4 inches) are ideal for use in large-scale installations. Viega will be demonstrating its high design standards this year with new flush plates which have already been awarded the title "Design Plus powered by ISH 2017". There will be lots more new product innovations to see on the stand (A44 / B44-46) in hall 4.0, including for the preservation of drinking water quality, for fire protection, and in pre-wall technology.
With the Megapress piping system, Viega has for the first time enabled the pressing of thick-walled steel pipes in sizes from 3/8 of an inch to 2 inches. Thanks to the new XL sizes (2½, 3 and 4 inches), the press connection system can now also be deployed in large-scale cooling, heating, sprinkler or compressed air installations.
The economic benefits of cold press connecting technology are considerable in such applications. Depending on size, time savings are as much as 80 percent compared to welding. The method is also safer, as work no longer has to be carried out with an open flame. Megapress XL is processed using a so-called press booster, tailored to the specific system, which can be driven by any Viega press machine from Type 2 up to and including Pressgun 5. Thanks to this specially developed press force booster, even the new XL sizes can be pressed in a matter of seconds.
Design Plus Award for flush plates
Contrasting the weight and power of Viega's Megapress innovations are its delicate, stylish new WC flush plates: the Visign for More 105 and the Visign for More 105 sensitive and Visign for Style sensitive – the latter two featuring touchless flush actuation – are impressive in their clarity and simplicity of design. At the same time, Viega has succeeded in integrating functions such as intuitive detection of dual-volume flush into the high-end design.
Those attributes were also recognised by the expert jury of "Design Plus powered by ISH". It awarded the Visign for More 105 and Visign for Style sensitive the prestigious design prize in the lead-up to the ISH fair.
